Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of DUBAI FUTURE FOUNDATION (DFF), has given approval for the initiation of the “Dubai Program for Gaming 2033.” The program's objective is to position Dubai among the top 10 cities globally in the gaming industry, generating 30,000 new jobs in the sector. It also aims to significantly increase the gaming sector's contribution to Dubai's digital economy, with a targeted GDP growth of approximately US$1 billion by 2033, showcasing Dubai's commitment to establishing a supportive environment for cutting-edge technology and digital transformation.

Dubai, strategically positioned in the estimated US$200 billion global gaming sector, aims to create a global platform for digital content creators, offering training and job opportunities.

The program involves various initiatives, including local and international events, exhibitions, and collaborations with individuals, companies, and regulatory bodies globally. Additionally, under the overarching "Dubai Metaverse Strategy," three specific components - "Metaverse Alliance," "Metaverse Guidelines," and "Metaverse Pioneers" - aim to establish Dubai as a world leader in metaverse development and a global hub.

The "Metaverse Alliance" is a global network involving government entities, international technology companies, entrepreneurs, and startups specialized in the metaverse world. It seeks to promote collaborations and partnerships for both global and national projects centered around virtual worlds or interactions. Furthermore, it will play a key role in delivering global technological solutions for local projects, enhancing existing government services, introducing innovative services, and creating an enabling environment for new and innovative technologies.

"Metaverse Guidelines" aims to identify impactful metaverse applications, providing a comprehensive framework for Dubai government entities to regulate and define optimal uses of the metaverse in government work.

"Metaverse Pioneers" is a comprehensive program intended to equip Dubai government employees with essential skills and tools to leverage metaverse technology in their professional capacities. The program covers in-depth content on the Metaverse concept, its uses, and applications, along with a range of events, training sessions, and workshops organized by Digital Dubai.
